TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Two-time FAMAS awardee, Leopoldo Salcedo was born in Cavite. He is one of the first kayumanggi or dark skinned Filipino stars famous in portraying dramatic heroes.

Leopoldo’s most memorable portrayal was in the title role of the “The Moises Padilla Story” in 1961. His portrayal won him the FAMAS best actor in 1961.
