TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

By Virtue of Republic Act No. 7926, Muntinlupa becomes a city in the Philippines as signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos. It has become the 65th city in the Philippines following the conversion of the Municipality of Muntinlupa into a highly urbanised city by way of House Bill No. 14401.

On 1 March 2001, RA 9191 declared the First Day of March as a special holiday in the city to be known as “The Muntinlupa City Charter Day”.
