Today in Philippine History

The University of the Philippines Los Baños was officially established. The university was founded by American botanist Edwin B. Copeland.

The university is a coeducational, publicly funded academic, research and extension institution, and is one of the seven constituent universities of the University of the Philippines System.

At present, the UPLB offers programs in the natural sciences, engineering, formal sciences, social sciences and liberal arts through its nine colleges and two schools.
