TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY:

A bomb explosion in Glorietta 2 Shopping Center killed 8 people and left around 100 people injured. The explosion occured around lunch hour. The Philippine National Police and the military were on their highest state of alert, and in similar public areas, security personnel were deployed on anticipation that a similar event will happen too.

Then – President Gloria Arroyo said on television that the incident might be brought about by an explosive device. Ayala Land Inc, owner of Glorietta Shopping Center have hired experts to conduct a parallel investigation with that of the PNP and it concluded that a bomb cause the explosion.
