TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Constitution of Biak-na-Bato was promulgated by the Philippine Revolutionary Government. It was the provisionary Constitution of the Philippine Republic during the Revolution against the Spain.

The draft of the Constitution of Biak-na-bato was written originally in Spanish by Isabelo Artacho and Felix Ferrer. The draft was then approved by the Assembly of prominent leaders of the Philippine Revolutionary Government on November 1, 1897. The “Copia ng Constituciong Halal sa Biak-na-bato” was the Tagalog translation made by Francisco Macabulos y Soliman in Hongkong on May 12, 1898.
