LABOUR WEEKEND FILIPINO FESTIVAL
The Labour weekend Filipino Festival is an annual event held every October in different cities throughout New Zealand. The event offers great opportunities to appreciate and celebrate our rich Filipino heritage.
2016 HOST
This year’s Labour weekend Filipino celebration is hosted by the Wellington Filipino Sports Association (WFSA), with the support of various groups, associations and generous individuals/volunteers. We envisage that a large proportion of the 40,000 Filipinos currently living in New Zealand and the greater Wellington region will actively join the festivities.
WHERE & WHAT
Most of the cultural and sports events including traditional Filipino games will be held at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie, Wellington.
Other highlights will be the market area at the Wellington Indian Hall where you can buy sumptuous Filipino food and other merchandise, and the Philippine Pavillion at the ASB Sports Centre where you could trace our roots through exhibits of Filipiniana items.
