TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

The Associacion Internationale des Philippinistes was established in Paris, France. The association was an unaccredited organization of Filipino and non-Filipino intellectuals with Ferdinand Blumentritt as president and Dr. Jose P. Rizal as secretary.

The idea of an association to invest Filipino self-identity was broached by Dr. Rizal to his friend Ferdinand who gladly supported him.
