TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Spain issued a royal order requiring the provincial governor of the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur to encourage voluntary migration of Filipinos to Palawan Island.

The migrants are to be exempted from payment of taxes for 10 years, to be entitled to free passage, three hectares of land gratis, among other privileges.
