TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

A treaty of peace was signed between Governor-General Valdes Tamon and Sulu’s Sultan Alimud Din.

The Treaty contains:

  1. The preservation of permanent peace between the two states;
  2. The provision of alliance and mutual aid against any foreign foe;
  3. Free trade between the two states;
  4. Responsibility of each state for all infractions of the peace; and
